Football transfer rumors are currently circulating, with a lot of attention on goalkeepers Gianluigi Donnarumma and Ederson.
Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma appears to be on his way out of the club.
PSG’s manager, Luis Enrique, is looking for a goalkeeper with a “different profile” and has decided to drop Donnarumma in favor of Lucas Chevalier, a 23-year-old summer signing from Lille.
Donnarumma has expressed his disappointment and disheartened feelings on social media about this decision.
If he moves, Gianluigi Donnarumma would prefer a switch to the Premier League.
Manchester City is monitoring Donnarumma as a potential replacement for their current goalkeeper, Ederson.
Other clubs linked with the Italy No. 1 include Chelsea and Manchester United.
Reports suggest that PSG would accept an offer around £26 million for Donnarumma.
However, Manchester City’s primary preference is to keep Ederson at the Etihad Stadium.
Ederson has been linked with Galatasaray and clubs in the Saudi Pro League.
Galatasaray has reportedly even agreed to personal terms with Ederson and lodged an offer of €3 million to Manchester City.
Despite this, City has not yet received any contact or offers from other clubs for Ederson.
A deal for Gianluigi Donnarumma would only happen if Ederson asks to leave Manchester City and if any interested club makes an offer that meets City’s valuation.
Ederson, who has one year left on his contract, stated in June that his “mind is staying with the club”.
Pep Guardiola is keen to retain him, but City would be forced into the transfer market if Ederson makes it clear he wants to depart.
Manchester City has already brought in two goalkeepers this summer: James Trafford was re-signed from Burnley for £27 million, and Marcus Bettinelli arrived from Chelsea for a nominal fee.
Trafford was initially expected to be the new No. 1, but the situation might have changed due to these new rumors.
While Manchester United was also linked with Gianluigi Donnarumma, sources close to the club indicate that signing a new goalkeeper is not their priority in the current transfer window. United is focusing on player exits and investing funds in a new midfielder. They had an earlier loan bid for Emiliano Martínez turned down by Aston Villa.
